HOW TO DEVELOP BIRDWATCHING TOURISM?

bird watching
Apr. 25, 2022
For birdwatching tourism, we accept recreational activities related to birdwatching in their natural environment in order to enjoy finding and identifying as many and most interesting species as possible. In recent years, bird-watching tourism has experienced an unprecedented boom and has become a source of employment and livelihood in various European countries.

This trend should be used in countries with great potential such as Bulgaria, so the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation joined the Eurobird project under the Erasmus + program and together with partners from Spain, the Czech Republic and Portugal develops new training methods to enable those interested to receive knowledge of how to create attractive experiences in birdwatching tourism.

In this regard, on April 26 at 5.30 pm BBF organized an online event "How to develop birdwatching tourism?". Extremely interesting lecturers are invited:
• Dr Petar Yankov from the Nature Conservation Center "Poda" of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds will talk about how to develop birdwatching tourism and will introduce us to the basic principles and guidelines in this activity.
• Svetoslav Velkov - manager of Traventuria tourist agency will present the role of interpretation in birdwatching tourism. A good interpreter recreates a satisfying and memorable experience for the tourist.

Anyone who is interested in the topic can join directly in the zoom (meeting ID: 885 0497 3652, passcode: 787329) or through the Facebook page of the BBF.
