The Website of Project GIS is already active

The site provides information for the project objectives and activities, the partnership with the Norwegian Environment agency and its role for the implementation of the project. The site also provides periodic information regarding the ongoing project activities and achievements. The visitors of the site have access to all materials and presentations, that are used and presented during the planned trainings – part of the activities which will be implemented during the project.  

An important part of the site is also the section “GIS platform”. Through the section the site will provide public access to a well-structured data base, with spatial data from five regions of work of BBF. Until the present moment the GIS experts involved in the project are actively working on inventory of the spatial data and the design of the GIS platform.

The development of the website www.gis.biodiversity.bg  is part of the implementation of the project ”Building Capacity of Non-governmental Organizations, Youths and Citizens for Use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Strengthening  the Monitoring  Skills and Advocacy of Policies for Regional Sustainable Development” which is funded by the NGO Program in Bulgaria under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.   More information for the NGO Program in Bulgaria under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 can be found at  http://www.ngogrants.bg/
