On Saturday, 22 May, SaveGREEN joined millions of people around the world in celebration of World Biodiversity Day, this year under the slogan “We’re part of the solution #ForNature”. This year’s Biodiversity Day is particularly important as the global community is on the verge of adopting a new post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. BBF together with 12 other project partners from CEE and Balkan Peninsula started the implementation of the project SaveGREEN. The project is financed by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme and is set to work on the critical theme of ecological corridors in the Carpathian and further mountain ranges of the Danube region.

The main goal of the project is to foster cross-sectoral and transnational cooperation and build a comprehensive know-how towards the development of concrete solutions aimed at improving, restoring, and preserving the functionality of key ecological corridors in the Carpathians.
