The conference will provide exchange of information and discussion on the sustainable flood prevention and conservation practices. The contemporary European policies and best practices will be presented as well as practical experience from river basins in Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Ukraine.

BBF continuing the check ups for stuff animals
At September 4th, 2007 on the territory of Velingrad Municipality was made a joint action between Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Waters - Pazardzhik, RPD Velingrad and BBF during which were controlled 7 objects (restaurants, taverns, hotels, hunting shops and clubs) and were confiscated the following protected species: Chamois -3 numbers, Common Buzzard - 3, Sparrowhawk, Wild cat, Long-eared owl and Hadgecock.

147 deputies voted “yes”, 2 – “against” and 15 – “abstention”.
It was written in the law that all court cases against PAs acts at the moment must be stopped immediately.
That means terminate of the “Strandja” case also.
FCS Project
The project will develop national guidelines for identifying the favourable conservations status of Natura 2000 species and habitats on national, regional and site level and for assessing this status on a national level. To the extent possible the conservation status will be assessed at site level for a limited number of sites. Two working groups are established to set up a methodology, one focussed on N-2000 habitats and plant species and one focussed on animal species. These work groups include experts from government and scientific institutions and from NGOs working on the implementation of N-2000.

Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation is organizing a Round Table “For Nature Park Belasitsa” on 12 April 2007 at 11.00 in the Conference Hall of the Petrich Municipality. The aim is further clarification of the idea for the establishment of the Belasitsa Nature Park, as well as continuation of the debate on this topic.
