FCS of Natura 2000 species and habitats in Bulgaria

The project will develop national guidelines for identifying the favourable conservations status of Natura 2000 species and habitats on national, regional and site level and for assessing this status on a national level. To the extent possible the conservation status will be assessed at site level for a limited number of sites. Two working groups are established to set up a methodology, one focussed on N-2000 habitats and plant species and one focussed on animal species. These work groups include experts from government and scientific institutions and from NGOs working on the implementation of N-2000.

The project will be implemented by Foundation DLO/Wageningen International (NL) in close cooperation with Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BG), BALKANI Wildlife Society (BG) and Orbicon (earlier Bio/consult) (DK).
