Transnational experience exchange workshop on the SaveGREEN project will be held from May 11 to 12 in Rila Hotel, Dupnitsa. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation and the Black Sea Network of NGOs in cooperation with the Executive Forest Agency and Southwestern State Enterprise and aims to present the progress of project activities in the pilot area Rila-Verila-Kraishte.
In the upcoming event representatives of the project partners from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria and relevant stakeholders are expected to exchange experiences and discuss proposed mitigation measures and solutions presented in a draft of the cross-sectoral operational plan for eco-Corridor Rila - Verila - Kraishte.
For better understanding of the problems in the region, field visits to the region / zones with problematic sections for ecological connectivity are planned also - LOT 1 (Dolna Dikanya - Dupnitsa) and LOT 3 (Kresna Gorge) on the Struma Motorway.
Representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Road Infrastructure Agency, the Southwestern State Enterprise and others are also expected to attend the event.
The transnational workshop is the first one of the series organized as part of the activities of the SaveGREEN project, funded by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme, which is set to work on the critical theme of ecological corridors in the Carpathian and further mountain ranges of the Danube region.
